INTERESTING FACTS:

• Thanks to the arid climates of the north, the skin of the limes takes on a much greener color. Frequent droughts require regular irrigation, but ultimately fewer chemicals are needed.
• The further from the equator, the smaller the fruits, but they do hang on the trees longer. Due to the regular rainfall, no additional irrigation is required.

Torres Tropical’s own BELLEZA farm is located in the North-East of Brazil, in Bahia, at 105 km of the port of Salvador.

The majority of the space remains protected forest and includes a large biodiversity. Pojuca is surrounded by different rivers and possesses a great concentration of natural gas. To grow, the plants need a constant average temperature around 21-25 degree Celsius. This makes Pojuca an ideal climate with an average temperature of 24 degree. 

Pojuca have a Tropical Semi-Arid Monsoon Climate (Köppen: “Am”). The annual rainfall there is 1113 mm. The average temperature is 24 degrees. There is a short dry season with almost no precipitation. Thanks to the great concentration of natural gas and the different rivers surrounding, including the Pojuca river, the soil is very fertile.

MUNDIAL FRUTAS started to market their limes 8 years ago in the region of Jaiba, state of Minas Gerais, in the southeast of Brazil. The company was founded by Fernando & Gabriela after they settled down in the region. Mundial Frutas focusses on delivering products that meets the European standards, providing high quality that complies with the supermarkets MRL’s. The region of Jaiba lays at an altitude of 475 meters and is characterized by high average temperatures and a dry environment with an average of 600 mm of rain / per year. Mundial Frutas’ farm has a full capacity irrigation system.

(Köppen climate classification: “BSh”) Hot Semi-Arid Steppe Climate with an average temperature of 23 degree.The north of Minas Gerais is part of the Arid Sertão in the North Easth of Brazil, which means it is subject to frequent droughts with an annual rainfall of 600 mm. Thanks to the Jaiba irrigation projects, irrigation uses water from the river, which is possible due to the high rainfall in its source.

ANDRADE SUN FARMS is a family-based agricultural farm of organic production specialized in limes for over 40 years. Founded by José Carlos Andrade in 1978, it is now managed by the third generation. Located in Mogi Mirim, in the São Paolo state, at an altitude of 600 meters. The area has a very fertile soil, which is the basis of organic work, and is characterized by a tropical climate, mild averages of temperatures throughout the year and the presence of Native Atlantic Forest with a lot of biodiversity. The preservation of bees is encouraged by maintaining hives on organic farms.

The company focusses on a sustainable and organic production including recycling / use of alternative solutions / biological control and integrated pest management. And is based on values that encourage the development and working conditions of their employees and their families improving life quality of their employees through various projects.

With the Köppen climate classification: “Cfa”, Mogi Mirim have a Humid Subtropical Climate. The temperature and rainfall is constant during the year: Warm and temperate with an average of 21 degree, and an annual rainfall of 1537 mm in total.
